A 3-day workshop to discuss the principles and applications of electron and light sheet microscopy for biological samples with hands on experience. We will cover an introduction to Electron Microscopy, Sample Preparation, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Light Sheet Microscopy, image analysis techniques (data preparation, segmentation & reconstruction), and applications for AI.

Application Criteria:
Applicants that wish to participate must apply by June 18, 2027. Accepted applicants will be notified of acceptance by July 2, 2027.
Applicants must be a student, research staff or faculty in a Kentucky institution of higher learning.
Applicants must be over the age of 18.
Applications entered with the use of artificial intelligence will be rejected.
Applicants must be able to provide their own transportation. Parking fees will not be reimbursed by the workshop. Visitor Campus Parking Information (Credit Card Only): Floyd Street Parking Garage (use the guest entrance on the North side of the garage; parking map)
Applicants must be able to bring a laptop with a keyboard and mouse (no tablets or desktops) and install a specified list of software prior to the workshop. The list of software to be installed will be made available upon acceptance into the workshop.
PLEASE NOTE: We are using Eventbrite for application submissions. To clarify, you are applying as a part of a competitive application process. Submitting a completed application does not automatically ensure that you are accepted for the Workshop, but you must submit a completed application to be considered.
